Delivered doesn't sound too bad, I'm assuming it's from a dismantlers, you could probably get it cheaper private.. I would want to see it running before buying an engine though.. -------------

I paid £150 delivered for a 325i engine with 120k on the clock, but i did get it off a friend of a friend. If its from a scrappy?? it still sound alot,but i guess if the mileage is warranted? its not too bad. ------------- e36 318ti sport |

With the problems that can happen with the 6 cylinder heads, you've got to expect to pay a bit. Mind you, an M40 4 cylinder is pricy due to the problems with the valve train. Quality engineering costs, especially when it goes wrong! ------------- Cheers, Neil |

Tis from a fairly well known breakers and it does come with a months warranty too. I'd change the cam-belt as a matter of course and most likely treat it to a new set of shells too, just to try and make sure it doesn't go the way of the old one. ------------- If anyone like old cars with big BMW engines, take a look at www.gt6.org.uk sign the guestbook, you know it makes sense! |
