....sorry - too thick to set up links - do search though and you'll find and engine, throttle bodies and other goodies - look at the seller's other items and there's some other e24 stuff too...

...someone out there's gonna wish i hadn't mentioned it....

Engine - no cams.  Tells a story.

£450 each from BM plus VAT for cams or a nice schrick one for £565 plus VAT.

From my experience of buying a spare engine you will need to rebuild it.  £3000 plus just for parts.  Might as well do your own engine up.  Buyer might get lucky but why is it on ebay and why no description?  Needs a compression test before biding.  If bores are excessively worn then you are in trouble as there are no pistons left from BM.  £1100 for JE pistons from the states.

Good luck to he who bids.  These cars are anything up to 19 years old now.  I doubt anything is going to be serviceable.

My 2 penneth anyway

You pays your money, you takes your choice.

Maybe the engine block could form a nice basis for a modernist, glass-topped coffee table....

....or if you wait long enough, the seller might put up the original cams on e-Bay, long after everyone else has forgotten what he'd sold previously....
