E65/66 and E38 wheel dilema!

I posted this in General, but it may be better in here also!! 

Hello,  bit of a dilema here!!

I've got some style 93 alloys, on ebay!!  I ASSUMED they would fit the E38 (you should never assume as it makes an...............)

Anyway, the guy bidding was in touch with BMW and they said they wont fit! 

My wheels (E65/66),  ET24 x4, 

E38 wheels are, rear ET25,  front ET13,  tyre size is within 2%

Rears will be fine, but 11mm on the front could cause problems,  but is the offset positive or negative (will they stick out of hit the shocks?) 

He does want to come and try, but if someone knows they categorically will/wont fit then i can save us both the hassle. 

any more help would be appreciated.

You can make them fit with things like these spacers and hubcentric rings. Usually they can be made fit to:

BMW@E34 E32 E39 E38 E60 E65@

if these mods cause vibrations at the front, there are different opinions. But from the priciple it works o.k. Contact your tire and wheel shop.
