Can't find anything in the search.

There seems to be only 2 trim levels on these and one of them is SE. Right the question what are the trim levels on these or is it a movable feast dependent on buyer ticking boxes.

Second question I've seen some with the chrome blacked out, what trim spec is that then?

Different trims are shown in the online spare parts catalog.

Sometimes it is also interesting to change the car selection from ECE model to US specification. You will find a lot of things which have not been sold in Europe or the other way round. As long as it has a BMW original spare parts number you can order these parts from your local dealer too. Just show him the facts and part numbers.

Parts without chrome are the socalled shadowline design. Part numbers are also in above online ETK. But you will be shocked to see the prices for the parts. A cheaper solution is the black out tape for that. You can even remove it later if you do not like it anymore.

Here are pics and instructions how to use and also who makes such blackout tape.

As Erich says, UK cars came as base trim (3.0 6 cyl cars) or SE. options included leather trim, buffalo leather trim (yes really!), velour trim. basic trim was cloth and nothing special. leather was optional or std depending on model/year. spec got better as the years went by. extra wood appeared around the gear shifter around 1990 ish. owners added individual options as they desired.

plenty of high spec cars out there, so low spec cars do not attract much interest.
