Hi peeps,

Need some advice:

Bought the Ci last year, its on a 02, and did my week end wash on Sat. On the bonet, the amount of chips, and I mean, down to the metal, are unblievable. I don't do the milaege to warrant such damage. My Old Man, has a company car, a Ford Mondoe, we compaired and not a mark on the bonet, so something wrong somewhere.

Should I sorm back to the dealer and demand they sort it out or what?

I woudn't have thought that this is a returnable issue. You could take it back and see what they say and really plead your case of low mileage and unacceptable condition but not heard of BMW replacing paint due to stone chipping.

Paint, by its very nature, on the front of cars is open to stone chipping IMO, really comes down to the environment that the car is being driven through and at what speed? Cant help to try though?

Ooops, of course it's 69 Dave, wouldn't be any more, my favourite number

There is a lot of after market stuff that you can coat with, AutoGlym are one good supplier, and I know there is also a Black leather Bib that E46 owners can source that fits the front part of the bonnet and down over the grille to the front panel. One flew past me on the M8 a few weeks ago, looks really good too. No doubt it's a Stealer supplied part and cost the earth though.
