With the probloms that I am haveing at the moment I am going to check the basics to night  I am also going to chang the fuel filter befor I go and by a new exaust haw do thay come of and are that a pain to do,  what would make A hight picht noise at anthing over 3100 rpm that is not gear box almost like some one wistleing.Thanks

Mark, the fuel filter is near the fuel tank. Can you get the car up on a lift in a workshop? or jack up the rear end of the car as high as you can.

loads of great E23 relevant info in the Bentley workshop manual for E28's. its an American book & is 1 million times better than a Haynes manual.

I would do it at work but the boss is, well it is to much hasal and I would rather not be there if I can, if you know whot I mean. but I will see if I can drive it up some ramps I have, bit tight but I will have a go,
