We Need at least 1 more!, please PM vehicle Reg. Nos and names to Pete for the entry forms. Looks a nae bad spread of models, 02, 3, 5, 6 & 7 series so far! all we need's a 8 series !!

  • 2002tii - Big Pimpin
  • E30 325i Sport - Big Pimpin
  • E34 540 - dave brands

  • E32 Alpina B3.5 - Chas C

  • E24 635csi - George91 (MOT permitting)

Pete, I took the tii to this event last year, just wondered if you fancied organising a BMW car club presence this year?

It's a pretty good day out, and loads of cars from Lambo's to Model T fords! The supercar blast around the track is good to watch!

I'm sure they'd consider us as a group and might get some track parade time.

Right we can have 6 cars on a club stand for this

and i think its free

Details are being sent out to me soon

as well as a stand for the club we get to drive round the track and show off cars (Not race)

So can we have names for those that would like to show there cars for this event?

More classic the better

Cheers for looking into this Pete, I've been down in Glasgow for the last couple of days!

I'd be up for sticking either the tii or the sport in for this (whichever is looking the best by then!)

Last year exibitors and passengers got free admission and get a free buffet lunch !

But for once lets have a classic car show stand with some older BM`s

Since the number is limited to 6 cars we should not have a problem there

Pete, the Tii is going for MOT on Monday so fingers crossed ! (if it fails big time I'm sure we could stick Gary's evo in its place!)

I'm a bit hacked off as the coachbuilder that was going to be painting the 325 has gone on holiday so I don't think I'll get it tidied up before Alford!

The Tii could be done with some bodywork too but again don't think I'll have time !

  • Inner Ball Joints

  • Brakes (All binding)

If I can source the bits and get the work done in the next week or so it should still make it....but time's running out fast!!!

Nae yet, but may have come today....I'll check when I get home.

I've ordered parts for the Tii from Germany so fingers crossed they should be here on Thursday, MOT on Friday and jobs a good un!

Maybe worth putting Gary on standby if the bits dont turn up?

Cheers,

The wee car park at the side...on Hay Street?  That's fine, I work for Moray College as it happens.   Is 10.30 okay for you?

Pack arrived this am.

I'll probably take the Deeside route A93/A980 because the plod will have a heavy presence on the A944.  Its an easy 45 mins to Alford so I'll be leaving 9.45.  If anyone wants to join me, get here before 9.15 for a coffee

Pete, got both my passes in, we will aim to be there around 10:30. Anyone else heading up from the Huntly area?

My mate has organised a headwetting on the 23rd, just damn typical it clashes with the only Sunday morning of the year I have to drive!

Might have to draft in a driver last minute if I'm dog rough !

I'm still in Montrose Pete, but my wife tells me that "something to do with your car" came through the post, so I'm assuming it's waiting for me at home.

I'll catch up with you lot later in the week to arrange meeting times and places.

Bad news guys....................................I have to work all weekend

Not a very happy man right now, I'm on a training course and this weekend was supposed to be a study weekend, we've just been told that we all have to work 10 hour shifts now Saturday and Sunday.

I finish at 4:00am Sunday morning and I'm back on at 6:00 pm and I'm afraid that at my age I really need to fit some sleep in there as well!

Really sorry to mess you all about and I hope you have a great time.

Dave

so now that leaves us 3 cars (maybe 4 if 2002 is ready)

I know someone that is willing to put his e34 518 project car in (the one he bought for £70)

But need a pass

If either Dave or Alexander can let me know if a pass is available by txt tomoz (as i am away to Arbroath)

Maybe we should just cancel this one???

What you recon?

I really am not fussed

Sounds like a good scheme to me.  I'll be at the Hay Street carpark by 10.30 so we should reach Huntly by 11.15 easy enough.  I'm not sure exactly where the place is in Alford but I'm sure everyone else knows.

found this

Sounds pretty good

This year sees the third Motorvation! to be held on Sunday 24th July at Grampian Transport Museum. Motorvation! Replaced the Alford Cavalcade that had run for the previous 25 years and was the major fundraiser for the establishment of the Grampian Transport Museum. The formula for Motorvation! Involves heavy emphasis on extremely rare or unique motorcars that help to illustrate the story of the motorcar.

For 2005 we have already confirmed entries from both ends of the chronological spectrum with historic Victorian and Edwardian steam and motor cars contrasting dramatically with exceptional modern classics and supercars. We anticipate a unique spectacle in 2005; the chance to directly compare around thirty supercars and possibly a full set of Ferraris!

Motorvation!’s chronological sequence kicks off this year with a special guest appearance of a faithful replica of one of Hancock’s Steam Coaches that were the first effective self moving road passenger vehicles in the world. They ran in London in the 1840s. The unique carriage attending Motorvation! was built by Tom Brogden, the leading engineering replica specialist, in 2002. Tom worked from the original drawings for the ‘Enterprise’, the third Hancock carriage to be made in 1840. The chronology is rounded off with the very latest models from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Lotus, Bugatti, Maserati and Porsche. Town and County Motor Group of Aberdeen, the main specialist sponsor again for 2005, who are the local specialists in performace and prestige cars, will ensure that the event comes right up to the minute with examples of the very latest Porsche, Subaru and Range Rover models from their Tullos dealership.

Motorvation! is building to become one of the very best motorcar events in Scotland. The interest from participants this year has been remarkable and organisers expect the site to be at capacity with exceptional historic and classic cars and trade displays from locally active car dealerships. Edinburgh’s Bentley dealership are fielding two of the new Bentley Continentals and some Ferrari and Maserati supercars.
