Subject: Galway Trip, Saturday June 11th
Date Posted: 12-May-2005 at 11:27

We're still trying to sign people up for a Galway meet.

Parking will be about €9 from 1pm Saturday to 1pm Sunday in a secure car park; you will be issued a ticket and can come and go as you please in that time period.

We can meet at the Front Door on Cross Street on Saturday afternoon.  I'll PM everybody a contact number.

Dinner will be at 9pm in Kirbys of Cross Street.  Even ordering the most expensive starter, main course and dessert, it comes to less than €40 per head, and is quality.

Hangover breakfast will most likely be in Riordans on Quay Street.  Should be less than €10.

Karting will take place on Sunday June 12th at Pallas Karting, Tynagh near Loughrea at 3pm.  Cost is €40 for a half hour session.  It's supposed to be the longest track in Europe, and is good!

Accomadation is in Sleepzone in Hidden Valley (beside Roches Stores carpark). http://www.sleepzone.ie/ - http://www.sleepzone.ie/  It's working out at €25 each for single room self catering apartments for the night.  Normal rate is €50 per night + €25 deposit refundable on checkout.

So far there is:

Richie   Ken Devitt   John Mackaroo1  John H   John H's Better Half   Techno Violet   Kevin 1990_316i   Dax Klynsmith   Lizane (Mini Conv - interested in becoming a member)   Jimboh (Saturday afternoon only)

oh yeah, and me!!!

Waiting to Confirm:

Everybody else!

Unfortunately Can't Make It:

Killian   Niall   Ludo   Lord "Mike" Vader   Digweed   Fishy   Ballina123   Ado Healy

Am I missing/misfiling anyone?

As a hostel is quite inexpensive, staying in one increreases your ability financially to score

Doesn't Richie have his flexible friend to help him score???  He just needs to make sure that the beer doesn't aaffect it's flexibility!  And his car should help!

I was thinking about Jurys Inn or the Spanish Arch Hotel; they're both on Quay Street right in the middle of everything.  Will check rates all around.

I'll add your name to the list, shall I Ken?

Just to get back on topic (ahem!), I've had a chat with a local (good) resteraunt about dinner cost; Kirbys on Cross St (part of Busker Brownes pub).  Having their most expensive starters(€7.95), main course (€24.95), dessert (€4.95) and coffee (€1.50) will set you back €39.35.  Their food is excellent.  They also have a set menu for €32.50, with a €5 surcharge for the sirloin.  Booking times are for 7pm (but you have to be out by 8:45), and 9pm, where you can sit and relax until about 12:30.

Nightclub will probably be Halo, which normally charges €13 on a Saturday night and has mad queues, but I'm having a wee chat with them later to avoid full price/queuing.

Parking (1pm Sat to 1pm Sun) is €9 in Jurys Carpark.

As regards accomadation, still awaiting final numbers.

Folks; looking for the last names.  So sign up.  For those already listed, how does karting sound on the Sunday; the track is supposed to be the longest in Europe, and is located in Tynagh, about 30-40 minutes from the city.

went there on my stag and is absolutely brilliant [probably even better without a hangover].
Only problem was when my steering wheel & its shaft came out on a bend!

Yeah the Tynagh track is really good. You can drive flat out through the chicane, and it doesn't take long for your confidence to build. I remember that I came off the track after 30 minutes in a lather of sweat from the adrenalin.

Richie, John H, Dee, Ken Devitt, Mackaroo1 and Techno Violet are all booked into accomadation.  It will cost y'all €25 each for the night in single bedroom self catering apartments in a city centre hostel.  I've already spoken to Richie and John H about the arrangements; everyone else PM me your numbers and I'll let ye know details.

Anyone else who wishes to come down; the best I can get is about €135 for the night B&B.  Sorry - most places have been booked solid for 3 weeks and I just hit lucky with what I got (these apartments are only opening today).

Hangover breakfast will be in Riordans on Quay Street for a full Irish on Sunday morning; will cost just under a tenner.

What a great weekend. Again, special thanks to David for pulling out all the stops with the organisation. I especially liked the way he organised for us to skip a queue of around 200 people at the night club, get seats in the "special people area" and then women to come and talk to us.

Carlsberg dont do weekends but if they did....

Anyway, here's some pics of the 2 days.I've no photos from the pub but thats probably a godsend!!

I don't remember that either, but it sounds about right - might be why my little senorita's weren't waiting up for me...

Yeah, that black haired one really was all over him, licking him all over, pawing at him, and then hitting him forcefully in his privates when he tried to put her off.

Just remembered, Dfor is a HE, not a SHE!!!

I was going to make a comment about the rights and wrongs of scoring a dog, but that wouldn't be fair on techno... only messing...

No chance of a comeback tour eh Kin. My brother has a sound studio in a room in his house in City West. He samples some tunes at the weekend and gets a gig or two most weekends.

Takes practice every week, bit rusty now. Was fun while it lasted.

It is a crazy feeling looking out at a thousand people dancing & screaming to you  playing.

That was a really crazy and fun time of my life... too bad one has to grow up.

Ah Kin, you have loadsa time to grow up. My brother is 32 and his mate who is a DJ on Midland 103.5fm is 40ish.

Maybe we could have our own Bimmerfest, with Kin Mak mixing the tunes and Richie on the barbecue
