Well I managed to get to just after 1pm today.

That's before I cracked and decided that even if my car did have a rattle that the weather was far too good to leave the car garaged.

So, out it came and I happily rattled my way through the Countryside for a good 90 minutes or so before finally accumulating so many flies on my windscreen that I couldn't see.

Hence, home it was and a thoroughly good washing.

I suspect, now that I've had plentiful opportunity to listen with the hood down, that the rattle is the centre section exhaust bracket snapped or loose.  It didn't hamper performance anyway and the car is in tomorrow for whatever it is to be fixed with any luck.

I took a few snaps of Car & Countryside in harmony, so here they are:

The local's look on, somewhat bemused...

Nice car, nice countryside, I'm still not sure about the colour though, I wonder if it will still be in vogue in a couple of years time ?

Park that car in the field and no-one would have seen you lurking, Coasting...no wonder the cows were looking at you, they thought the car was food...

Nice day for it though, and I guess the rattle has yet to be found a reason for...had a car pass me the other day with its NSR rattling, a stone dropped out of the alloy after getting free from behind the center cap that covers the nutz.

Tiny little pebbles...they get everywhere and make the most noise too.

I'm not even sure it's in vogue now!  It's always a topic of conversation anyway, so life is never boring (especially on those roads with the right foot down....).

There was a rather funny moment when I rounded a bend to find a 'Sunday Driver' in a Nissan QX.

Grannies in the rear, Grannies in the front, and all of a sudden the drivers rear view mirror filled with an offensive yellow machine.

I trundled along for a mile or so behind them until the road widened on a nice long stretch and then....

Yes, well I never like to harass people on the roads because the fact is that these days you never know who it is - or who they know.

Besides, my car isn't exactly one they'll forget about and miss in a car park 10 miles down the road...!

Just to prove how much I back off when there is no hope of getting past (and because the distance allows me a better perspective and view on where I'll be able to pass)...here's another picture I took!

I take pictures constantly when I'm out on days like this!

It's not has much use just recently but even so.

Good for you Chris, I didn't harass the red thing in front of me, but he was nice enough, and appreciated the fact I might have been in a hurry, I did not tail gate like some doo, very naughty practice

Well I'm just waiting to see who is going to take the reins and sort out the next run.

He's more than welcome for another trip in the car though whenever a meet is arranged.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavours last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

It's up to someone to organise one.

The only things I'll be doing will be the occasional mini-meet in the Northumberland/Tyneside area.

It doesn't appear anyone wants to take forum arranged meets up (in terms of organising them) though so I guess they're dead in the water for the foreseeable future.

That's a shame.

Looking at the pictures, and reading the positive posts from the Kielder run, they seem to be a popular, and fun event to have.  And with summer on our doorstep (assuming that it warms up and stops b****y raining), there are many weekends ahead of us.  I hope someone does organise one.

On another note, although it might be related, the forum has gone very quiet over the last couple of weeks.......
