Subject: Not being detected by OBC ??

Morning guys ,

Put my 5 through for an MOT on Thurs and she passed fine , although she needed 2 new bulbs , the nearside sidelight and the offside repeater had blown , so no real problems

However I wasn't informed that these had gone by my OBC . I have the dual OBC that displays info on the dash as well and I remeber when I first got the car that it informed me that one of my brake light bulbs had gone .. Should the OBC have told me that the sidelight and indicator bulbs had gone ??? If it should what could be the problem with it ??

It should as i changed one of my headlights recently (stone flew into it...big hole in lens), i forgot to plug it back in and 'boing'

I don't think it bothers for sidelights - not sure about indicator repeaters.  These are probably classed as non-essential.  Mine has a blown sidelight and my OBC hasn't told me either, though it did for a headlight failure.

I agree with Jimbonic-it doesn't seem to bother with front sidelight bulbs or indicator bulbs, but does bong if the rear tail lights or licence plate bulbs fail or the headlight bulbs blow etc.
