My remote central locking is doing my fruit, its got a mind of its own.

Here is a typical chain of events when i try to enter my car in the morning:-

1) press the button on the remote to unlock the car . . . nothing.

2) try again repeatedly, try the red button and still nothing.

3) decide to open the door manually, drivers door unlocks, passenger door does not, then the car starts bleeping continuously, hazards flashing.

4) Start the car, still bleeping.

5) bleeping stops after a while.

6) try the remote again, nothing

7) try to open passenger door manually, whole car locks.

8) after a lot of p1ssing around, the remote central locking starts working again.

does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

I think it's broke!

I'd make two suggestions. Either paint some stripes over the roof and put 59 on the bonnet. Or, take it to an alarm specialist. My alarm started doing strange things and it only cost £10 to get it fixed.

Check the passenger door control module. Unplug each of the actuators one a time and see which one is faulty. Also when you open the driver door with the key do all doors open apart from the passenger door? Assuming your car is a three door try unlocking the door from the passenger side. the time my central locking broke i traced it back to broken wires in the boot lid which had caught when opening and closing the boot.

Take a look at this thread matey:

I'm pretty sure I've read a thread about actuators and c/l problems being common. Have you done a search?
