Anyone know of a good BMW specialist in edinburgh who would be willing to have a look at my E36 compact for a decent hourly rate.

i have a clunking coming from the rear end when pulling away and going over (some bumps). And before you start guys - an E36compact DOES NOT have trailing arm bushes like a normal E36, so it isn't these.

I don't want to pay the £75 an hour labour rates that Dunedin want as i suspect that there only gona tell me I have a lot more £'s to spend to fix the problem.

There are only two places in Edinburgh I would personally consider taking my BM if the dealers are to be avoided:

1. Autowerke, Gorgie Road.

2. Witherspoons, up by Ravelston Dykes/Gallery of Modern Art.

I would speak to Autowerke first and get them to give you a steer on "problem evaluation" costs.
