I've managed to get hold of a brand new AFM unit for an extremly good price (as mine appears to be knackered). The problem is that it isn't exactly the right unit. It's for the M40 316 engine and has a Bosch code of 0280200201, but mine has the code 0280200204 as it's from the M43 316i engine.

Now the questions are:

Does anyone know if I can still use this new unit (as it looks virtually identical)?

Am I risking any damage to the engine by giving it a test run?

If I shouldn't even try, does anyone want to make me an offer for it?
