Can anyone help on this one? If I apply the brakes fairly hard the brake pedal stays down! The brakes stay on as well. I have got quite skillful  in hooking my foot under the pedal to raise the pedal and let the brakes off! Under normal light braking everything is fine, the pedal returns and the brakes are ok. I was wondering if it could be the cross-shaft to the passenger side needing lubrication to the carrying brackets? Any help or ideas would be most welcome as it is driving me nuts!

Hiya Mark

Thanks for the advice. I found the lever arms and pivot posts and gave them a good dose of teflon spray lubricant. Instant success! I sprayed both pivot posts and the cross-bar. It was like driving a different car to work yesterday! Once again thanks.
