As if by magic, threads are locked, and forum descriptions change -

Would a mod please explain the difference between

1/

Open Forum no new posts http://www.bmwcarclubforum.co.uk/forum_topics.asp?FID=43 - General Club Members Forum
Chat to other members about BMWs and other matters.

and

2/

http://www.bmwcarclubforum.co.uk/forum_topics.asp?FID=44 - General Non-Club Issues Forum
Discuss off topic issues related to BMWs.

as I - and I'm sure others - are still confused  on the reason behind, and the purpose for this abrupt change.

Im the only one who can change forum descriptions and there has been no abrupt change made in a long time.
Don't know which threads being locked you are referring to.

[I fear that I may not answer this properly.]
The idea of the General Members Forum was to discuss club matters.
The idea of the Non Club issues was to discuss other stuff (like what is currently disccussed there).

I understand that my wording in the forum descriptions is not the best and will probably change them to something more suitable.

No KB, the answer is fine, thanks

- and the discussion doesn't have to be limited to BMW's does it?

I always thought it would be best for

The General Club Members Forum was to discuss matters withing the BMW Car Club with other members(Those that pay there money and not just forum users).

For example:

Club Magazine,Discounts etc etc

and the Non - Club issuses was for discussing other things not directly to do with The BMW Car Club

I understand, and don't have a problem with that - BUT it appears we suddenly can only have topics about BMW's!

Or perhaps the Non-Club Issues Forum could be named in a manner appropriate to the vast majority of it's content.

e.g.  The Utter Drivel Area

or...  Crap and more crap

or...  The Tedious One-Liner Section

Ya reckon?

a. I moved this thread here as I felt it was more appropriate in here [and as a normal topic rather than a sticky]
b. the definitions Pete gave were what I had originally attempted to convey. I will update them when I get a chance. Non club topics are frequently discussed here. The fact that the nonsense threads were locked was nothing to do with them being not about BMWs AFAIK.
c. I have opened another nonsense thread for your pleasure.

Pits - I think you got moved for feedback!

Why wouldn't we be able to discuss non-bmw topics?  If we stuck to just BMW, we'd be down to 50%* of the current discussion and no-one would bother coming here at all!

*not actual statistic**

**did you know that 58% of statistics are made up on the spot?

why not...but some of us come on here to look at it purley for that reason.....one liners don't take up too much of my time, yet provide plenty of entertainment for my easily pleased mind.

Personally, I have no objection to 'chat' especially as I haven't fixed the chat system!
