Where and when?
Im inclined to opt for somewhere like Portlaoise or Mullingar/Athlone again so that it isn't Dublin centric which the club probably tends to (and unavoidably) be.

What about Sunday Nov 20th or 27th?

Presumably the discussion will be about the 2005 year and what is happening in 2006, etc. All members are invited & expected as it is an opportunity for you to comment on the club.

Somewhere on the N7 would be good to encourage the Cork and Limerick members to attend.

How about the Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise there is a multi storey car park attached to it.

I only mentioned those two dates as a guide. I wasn't limiting ourselves to them. What about the start of December then - gives people some time to plan how to leverage chrimbo shopping and other commitments, etc.

Any chance of a private room at either of the hotels? We can tell them we'll take a tray of sandwiches and tea/coffee and they may give us a room for an hour.Save us sittin out in a bar all trying to crowd around.

Private rooms tend to cost but leave it with me.
Between yis all, just pick a hotel before 3pm today and I'll ring them up after that, flirt with the receptionist* and scab a free room.

* maybe I should ask for room upstairs also!!!

The Killeshin Hotel is closed now K

The Heritage is the spot now, in the centre of Portlaoise but also has a multi-story car park.

Let me know if you have any joy sorting a room as i may be able to have a word with someone on the inside

Sunday December 4th at noon.  Sounds good - will do my best to be there.

Any idea of what'll be on the agenda (so we can prepare what we want to say/have ideas ready to put forward),  May save some time and BSing when we get there.

Suggestion for Agenda

Monthly Pub meets. A few have already happened, just outside Dublin. I think one place and one date, by date I mean for example 2nd Tuesday of the month or similar. The non changing date and place means that people would not have to check in  advance where and when to go.

unfortunately i wont be able to make it but i do have a suggestion for events.

i cant speak for everyone but my situation is that i work six days which leaves sunday for the family day.

if there were more family days i could attend more meets for example

newbridge house and park in donabate has agood car park,a playground for the kids,a barbaque area for richie and for a small fee theres a farm.i think with a decent turnout it would be a good day.

or a meet at the seafront in skerries etc,etc...

i dont know how many people are in the same situation as me but if i could include the family on a sunday it would open up a lot more events for me.(after all thats why i got the family membership)

well i got my tuppence worth in.enjoy sunday and safe driving to and fro.

Just in the door.  The GPS brought me back by the back roads through Shannonbridge.  It gave me an eta of 17:31, and I hit my driveway at 17:34 (it didn't have the Loughrea bypass on it, for which it docked me 2 minutes!).

Interesting meeting; gives us all a few things to put some thought into.

Also nice to meet a few people I hadn't met before, as well as giving us all the opportunity to bid Ludo farewell and good luck.

OT: Discovery Science (NTL 211) are rebuilding an e30 at the moment.

I guess it is the same reason why you don't just look at your model girlfriend and just show her off to your friends. It is nice to admire what you have and show it off, but sometimes you have to give her a good ride. The feeling of shifting down to 3rd at 60mph and giving it some boot is something special. Then you hear her scream "More! More!"

p.s. Niall you planning on coming to the Isle of man trip?

I did - they will be available tomorrow.
Again, thanks to everyone who turned up. It was a good meeting and as always it was good seeing faces again.

Incidentally, was that a talivan parked on the southbound side of the M7 not too far from Portlaoise? [Wine coloured transit with company markings] Or was it just some idiot pulled over to answer their phone in a garda layby?

The last time I followed you was on the way back from Mullingar. Lets just say, that I had a hard time keeping up!
You are just in a snot because you spent the santa money on new schnitzers and you had nothing left over to pay to get them balanced!

The latter!

It was a van of a furniture place near me.  Not sure why he figured that his van counted under the heading of "Garda Vehicles Only" - maybe his brother is a member?!
