Hi all Got a 32mm wrench (massive manly weapon!) and removed my viscous coupling and fan. The coupling is firm to turn, no matter what. Now I know this means its gonners, but I cannot afford a new one just yet as I just replaced my fuel lift pump. Anyone got ideas on cleaning, reconditioning, soaking, freezing this thing, before I go ahead and do all of the above? Also more importantly, are there different couplings for different climates. It is always warm in South Africa, 27 - 35'C +, so is there I chance I have the wrong model coupler? art. |

Welcome! Interesting post, as I am thinking about this now - mine is filthy and I am wondering what effects this has on efficiency... I suspect there will be different units for different markets, yes. Try here http://www.realoem.com - www.realoem.com to identify what you should have to compare against what comes off the car... Hiya, thanks for the reply! I can tell you that it creates more than a little drag. Without the fan the car revved more freely and down gearing was much smoother. Alongside that it sounded GREAT, the inline six growl not being shrouded by the 'milk lorry' WHOOOSH! art. |
