Hi all... I have a 75  CS that was german reg then UK(and is) and now I am trying to legalise it in Portugal .. .all goes well but I have been asked for a Homologation cert. or CEE conformity number ...Even the BMW Importers can't/,won't help ... Is this common knowledge is it somewhere on my reg documents or what.?All thoughts gratefully received etc. UJB

Boa Tarde UJB,

Mobile Taditions should be able to give you a letter stating that XX amount of 3.0CS's were manufactured to conform with Homolagation.

(CEE Certification was still part of George Orwells inspiration when the cars were produced) E-Mail them at mailto:info.konzernarchiv@bmw.de - info.konzernarchiv@bmw.de  .

In addition, your UK registration showing 1st year of registration should sort out the Beaurocrat who is trying to hide his ignorance.

I know of 2 other CS's in Portugal, one near Oporto and the other was at Cais-cais, will see if I can dig out their E-mails for you

I believe that these certificates are only required for new cars. I seem to remember that if you buy a new car on the continent you need a similar certificate that says that it all complies with current legislation of the country you import into, but for a private import of an old car you should not need to comply with these CEE certificates.

Boa tarde Dax! e muito obrigado por a sua  reposta rapida!  I think I'm going to open a CS register for Portugal it looks like it won't be too much work if there's only three of us! If you could dig out the other eems  I'd be most grateful.....I saw one at a distance and it could have been a 2800, I've seen a 2000 sharkface in Sintra, and I saw a '74 CS auto in a Beem garage in Lisboa once.....If you are ever here again we should meet in O'Gilins the only decentandreal Irish bar the Gs are on me..I'll follow up the tip on the original querie and keep all you forumistas up to date....importing a classic to P is agro but could be well worthwhile... has to be LHD and pre 75 prices here are loco

Hola UJB, Te Nada,Amico, Meu Prazer.Been looking through my email addresses, they are in there somewhere, The Oporto one was owned by  Jose-August Ribiero,but I lost contact about 2 years ago, will keep looking,

I will be in the Oporto area later his year for about a week and will gladly buy you a cerveja or 10, Had forgotten that Portugal was LHD.

Let us know how the war with the Beurocracy fares
