I own a BMW 5-Series (E60), which was made in March 2005.

My car had a minor dent repair by approved body shop last week.  After collecting the car, I found the light switch was pressed into the dash by 5mm.  I pull the switch out.

I am not sure whether it damaged the illumination of the switch or not.  Is it normal that only the top vertical rectangle illuminates, but not the "Bulb" symbol below it?

I think all BMWs should have the same feature.  So please let me know about the switch of your car.  Many thanks.

If the switch of my car is broken, I need to get it replaced under the warranty.
