Tthe 325 badge isn't in the right place! That would put me right off.

Can you tell my tongues in my cheek?

"You are bidding on very unusual 1988 BMW 318i"

Your not joking mate!

AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRH!

quotes " The reason for sale is I am after calibra, so if you have calibra email me" "I just want a nice looking car like calibra."

So why didn't he but a ****ing calibra!

Instead of ****ing up an E30!

p.s. it's had 15 bids, and is up to £105 - but reserve not met

I presume the 105 quid includes the white Honda parked next to it?

Thing is, the guy says it has had a full engine rebuild, so taking that into account, how much would a 318i in decent nick fetch these days? More than 100 quid I'd wager. Why do people stick tonnes of crap on a good car to make it bad, then expect people to pay a premium for it?

Swapping an E30 for a calibra - says it all really.

note to seller

keep the colour, get rid of the boot spoiler, debadge it, cut the tailpipes a bit shorter, change the wheels, paint the drums and calipers black, redo the window tints in a less extreme darkness, get rid of the fake stick on cossie bonnet vents and the horrible rear lights (maybe replace with slightly tinted standard ones), put the interior back to normal colours with normal floor mats and you'll probably have a better chance of selling it

Hey peeps,

do you think that modifying e30s is a big no no? I agree, that looks pretty crap, but its not all bad surely? I'm only saying that because my car has the full Reiger GTS bodykit on it (even the side skirts!) and I wouldnt wanna be slated if i was to roll up to one of the registers meets. The problem is, you can never please every body!

I still cant understand why someone would choose to do their ironing on the back of their car though!!!

Posted By: stephenperry
Date Posted: 05-March-2006 at 16:48

that takes me back.... Max Power put a Reiger wide bodykit on an E30 320i project car ("Project XS") about 12 -13 years ago (back in the first few issues when it was about cars and not soft-porn )

in cadburys dairy milk purple with testarossa-esque side strakes it looked quite nice (it did, honestly!)

last saw a few years ago for sale for a knock down price on eBay, a shadow of its former self

have you got any photos to upload Guy?

"The reserve is 850 and i might lower it a bit more, as i already bought another car and i need to get rid."

He needs to get rid... probably damaged his street cred - that is if he had any - if he didnt, after that he will never get any...

And those rear lights... its just too much...think burial is a good idea...

Sorry not my cup of tea at all but each to their own. Didn't Brian Harvey (East 17 fame)  have a similar body kit on his convertible?

thanks. Considering I'm only 20, i dont think Ive done too badly. Its hard not to modify it OTT, because most of my mates own stupidly done up cars. Its only taken 2 years, one engine, one interior, one new bodykit to replace the old one, one respray and over three times the amount payed for it in the first place. Nearly there though eh!

You haven't son, you haven't. In fact, I think you're wise beyond your years.

Funny thing is, back in 1977 when I was your age OTT body mods were all the rage then too. Instead of Max Power we had Custom Car.

I guess fashion (and stupidity) just go in circles.

C'mon people help this guy out..

He's after some money for Uni right? So let's say we all put in £5 into a kitty, with the number of members we have that should generate a bit of cash and hopefully meet his reserve price.

Once "we" own it.....

Torch it.

It's a sin on E30's.

End of.
