Hello,

This is my first post to the forum so I hope this is the right place for a question like this.

Yesterday afternoon, the ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) deployed on my E36 Convertible tearing the plastic screen beyond recognition and scaring the living daylights out of me!

I took it to Halliwell Jones Chester (I was over there at the time) and a salesman had a go at getting the roll bars down. In doing so he got the tool jammed in one of the bars and left the other one up (morale of that story is that you should never let a salesman near your car!!)

My local dealer is Premer Llandudno and I showed it to them today, but I'm told that the system is knackered and they can't get their computer to talk to my ECU to reopen the ROPS and get the tool out.

Anyone had anything happen like this before?!

Anyway, it gave the girlfriend a good laugh when she saw the mess...
