hi peoples

just joined the club forum tonight after 10 years of owning a bmw in various forms.

my question is about wheel paint.  I'm refurbing the MV spoke rims on my 325i sport and would like to know if the wheel silver has a colour code. Also has anyone got a recommendation on the use of a spray gun or an airbrush for applying said paint to the rims.

Apparently the paint is standard across many manufacturers.  Have a look at this.

Thanks guys

i was completely unaware that that you could use the powder coat system to refurb rims.  Gave spit and polish an email enquiry but waiting to hear an answer from them.  Saying this though they appears to  be many good and bad reports about many refurb companies.  i suppose you pays your money and takes your chance.

just recieved some advice for colours from the westfield sportscar forum. advised to consider using titan Silver.  Having had a 320 SE in the same colour in the past i tend to agree.

Can I suggest you try Pristine Wheels in Milton Keynes 01908 282628.

I had my BBS wheels from my 325i Sport (E30) done by a company in Glouscester. They powdercoated them and now the centre caps dont fit the coating was to thick! The wheels were only painted originaly not coated Pristine are redoing mine at moment.

SEM in Sunderland get good results.

They refurbished the wheels on my Six before I bought them.

You should try & make the next meeting at the Lakeside (A194 between White Mare Pool & the Fellgate bridge) on Wednesday.
