or 79-81? if so, a Huuuuge favour please!! the serial number on the DME/ECU, I have the BMW part number, but in the interests of parsimony would like to source a good second hand one, which I would gladly do if I had the serial number, BMW can only give me the part number and Bosch cant be botherd.

would really appreciate some help.

Thanks

dax

Thanks Jimbob, I may need to buy a brewery! My 80 635 was one of those impulse/get swept up in the bidding moments on Ebay.Unfortunately the PO seems to have removed/exchanged things between the sale and the delivery and not knowing much about post CS BM's  am a bit lost, the ECU thats in there is from a 84/85 635, So am trying to trace the wiring to see if I have anything else is disconnected /missing/broken that is creating it's present state of

death

the 002 ECU is the one you need for your 635- the 001 is for a 633.

NB if your car is an earlier one (79-80) then it will be running L-jet and it'll be a different brain. The 002 and 001 are motronic ECUs

cheers

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!it is a 1980, manufactured 79, gather it is an

L-jet system!Any idea who manufactured the DME's? But then, how do you recognise wether it's L-Jet or Motronic?
