So the prediction was right, without our inspirational captain, Pharoah. Steve Seed, Marja, guest team member Kev and myself were victorious in the Monthly quiz today at The Swan, though we were taken to the decider in a very close competiton we scraped through to win. Watch out for the next quiz as i'm setting the questions

Despite the miserable weather there was pretty good turnout.

Thanks to Jeff for todays quiz

and thanks to Kevin as standin for Nick.

Popeye now has the dubious honour of preparing the next meets quiz ( I'm sure the answers to which could be made available for a small fee  ).

Shift pattern permitting hope to see you all next time. Cheers Steve

PS. Nick I have a bottle of bubbly for you, I'll bring it next time.

Methinks the Pharoah's could quite easily have been disqualified for 'hedging their bets' in the tie breaker!!!

I have a feeling the funny season is about to start with Popeye setting the next set of quiz questions.

What is the 325 tds se like as a car then.. I want to purchase one but haven't drove one yet!! it say's in magazines that this car is 0-60 in about 10.5 seconds. This suprised me as i thought it would be quicker. Any common faults with these cars? I am looking at buying around a 1996/97 plate (N/P). Hopefully hear from one of you guys soon.. Take care

Gaz

Hi Gaz,
I don't know which magazine you were reading but the 325tds is certainly quicker to 60mph than 10.5 secs - maybe they were testing the 325td, which has less power...
The 325td has only 115bhp but the tds model has an intercooler fitted which boosts power to 143bhp.
The 10.5 second quote should have been for a 0-100kph time, the tds should hit 60mph in 10 seconds dead, but some road tests when the car was new dipped under 10 seconds, but its not the 0-60mph time you should get hung up about, the 325tds has masses of torque which make it a dream to drive.
The best advice is find a good one and drive it!

Hi Gaz, Welcome to the forum. If you look on the events calender(top right of the page) all the meets and shows etc are listed. If you are in N.Wales then you would have a choice of either NW meets or Staffs region meets or both if you wish. Look forward to meeting you if you make a NW meet. Also if you need more info on the 325 tds try posting on the 3 series section you may get more response. Cheers  Steve.

You were missed mate. I'm sure if you had been there we would not have needed the tie breaker. Hope to see you next time. Steve.
