Nice.

Asking 3k too much.

imho i find it hard to know how anyone can actually comment on price without seeing it first

just my thoughts but if it is a "proper" car then its very much in the minority.

Only 3k too much?

Sounds a lovely car, but it is in mint, low mileage EVO 2 territory at that money.

Very nice stunning car, shame its garaged really as it was meant to be driven but thats why its in the condition its in, i feel its way over priced though as i saw one for sale about two years ago in the same if not better condition with less miles go for £10,500.00.

I think that for 13k they can be found. I also think that 8-9k is about the ceiling for any "standard" car. It doesn`t do us any favours to overvalue these cars, unless we are retiring from M3 ownership.

Yea definately should be less than 10k. At the end of the day, it must be in fantastic condition but its not a special edition, or a UK model.

Ah Oh, dont sart the UK thing again, I nearly got roasted a while back because of that!

It looks like its got a head gasket gone with all that steam out the rear!

I'd say probably too much too. But 'aint seen it in the flesh. Pics can make a dog look a minter, not saying that this is the case here of course!

nothing wrong with the steam. Mine does this as well with a brand new engine. Just depends how cold and humid it is that day.

so why do most of you guys on here think that these cars are not worth that much money?

If it is a mint original car, rare to find in that condition, original. it has got to be worth more than some of your suggestions of 7k!

Lancia Integrale, RS500 cosworths and many expensive cars from that era still demand over 10k

My car is insured for 9k and when i sent the pictures to the broker they suggested i get the car re-valued as they felt it was worth more in the region of 12k and it is a non evo car. If you look at the prices in europe at the moment cars in excellent condition are being sold for as high as 25000 euros.

I've never heard them called orthapedic seats before!

They are the rare 'proper' recaros seats, not the BMW made sport seats.

Could well be a good honest car. Still too much though.

But is a very rare spec with the recaros, no sunroof, wind down windows not
many around like that, and non sunroof shells are sought after by some
people.

again, still too much though.

Uwe

My insurance broker is Heritage.

I think they probably use ML as a guide price on cars and why not. they always seem to sell them at that price!!!

In fact I don't think they are the Recaro orthopaedic seats which have a flatter base. They look like the very nice optional Recaro sports seats based I think on the Recaro LS model.

It's worth what someone will pay. You cannot compare prices with what they went for last year or two years ago. These are now classic cars and the prices will vary hugely, a dog could be £3000, very low mileage over £12000,

Good cars are getting harder to come across as many are now being kept in long term ownership, like mine. That will make good ones more expensive when they do come up.

For an '89 model I perhaps would have expected 16'' wheels, rather than 15''. When did 16'' become standard? Also weren't the cars 215bhp by '89? Could be a late registered car I suppose. Looks good anyway.

My late spec 91 model and one of the last 100 made with 84k kms was sold for less than this price and had every option bar edc and aircon.

as Kevin has said it's what someone wants to pay.

But many people want cars without the options and will pay just as much if not more!!

When i looked for my car i wanted no options apart from the Recaros

Mine is a '89 and has a cat' 215bhp engine. It had 15's still. I don't think 16" ever became 'standard'?

It does look a nice car but then mine could have been described just like that ad when I bought mine. (Until I started playing with it!) I bought mine for £6000 so I don't see where they get another £6000 from?

If the car sells for £13k then it's worth just that!

If it doesnt then the owner will either hold on to it, or lower his prices till it does.

RS500 only bears price comparison with Sport Evo. A 1989 "cooking" Integrale with 70,000 would be well under 10k. Merc 190E EVO 2 maybe 35000 euros in mint condition, but the standard car, pennies. Yet this is the most direct and relevant historical rival to the M3, and cost more new.

I am not aware of any standard cars selling for anywhere near 25K euros, unless they have under, say 30,000 miles.

Obviously the market will decide, but I don`t know why genuine enthusiasts think it helps to overvalue these cars.

Is this the car that was in South Wales, advertised in the BMWCC mag just over a year ago for 8k, and recently on ebay, where it was unsold at 6800?

I have just got the ad out, and it doesn`t half sound like it-Diamond black. Recaros, wind up windows, air, 73k.

Can`t be more than one?

I recently bought my E30 M3 Cab on a K-92 with 57k on the clock for £10500....it's all about what someone wants to pay for a car, and as the years go by their only going to rise in price and I can't see them dropping.

I did see this too a while back on Ebay for a lot lower price, nice car though....

Of course they would like to have your car re-valued. You probably pay your premium based on value. And as for Euro 25000, this is only asking price. How many standard cars in excellent condition are actually sold for that sort of money? People just try to push prices up. Go out and enjoy your car, it probably gives you more than Euro 25000 in enjoyment.

I've seen concourse Renault 5GT Turbos sell for 7k, Series 1 RST's 10k, RS500 cossies 30k I would pay 10k for the right car, I think people seriously undervaluate the M3.
