thanks thats a great help , next question, the set ive come accross seem to be from the e38, the fronts are 235-50-18 and the rears are 255-45-18 , will these fit my e34 535i sport, ------------- i didnt do it!! |

They would probably fit but I think you would need to change all four tyres as the 7 series has a larger rolling radius than the 5 series. HTH Paul -------------  95 E34 530i V8 Auto Maldives Blue |

E38; Make - BMW Model - 7 Series E38 Year - 94 to 02 PCD - 5x120 Offset - 15 to 25 Bore - 72.6
E34; Make - BMW Model - 5 Series E34 Year - 87 to 95 PCD - 5x120 Offset - 15 to 25 Bore - 72.6 By the looks of that they should fit. Style 77s-thats just wrong, unless you're German with a collection of Hassellhoff cds. Style 38s IMO just aren't nice. For an E34 or E39 I personally would go for Alpina reps-classic and classy.Or M parallels. |

Angeleye, what size are you looking for in wheels?
If you follow this link here http://www.raceandroad.com/ - http://www.raceandroad.com/ then click "view wheels on car" you can then link across to the Borbet and Ronal sites where you can bring up a pic of your model car with couple of colour options then see the different wheel styles and sizes that fit your car, on your car! |

well guys just went and picked a set of these lovely split rim wheels up, tried a rear on before buying and it fitted loverly , so i bought them , however the fronts are causig a bit of a problem, they sit tight under the suspension mounts (and i mean tight), will this be fixable by either different tyres or spacers or am i stuffed????? hellllllppppp ------------- i didnt do it!! |

Angeleye, What offset are the wheels and what did they originally come off? Sounds to me that you've bought a set of wheels off a 3 series which would mean they're the wrong offset. You need to check inside the wheels for the offsets it should be ET followed by a number and compare it to the info John has put on earlier in the post . Also you need to check if the wheels are the same size or not because depending on which car, the back wheels are sometimes wider than the front. Angeleye, front tyres are too big, I have 235/45/18 on the front of my M-Parallels, think you'll need 4 new tyres mate, the rolling radius will be quite a bit different, affecting the speedo. HTH Paul ------------- 95 E34 530i V8 Auto Maldives Blue |

the back wheels are wider than the fronts , but i made sure that i tried a wider one on the back, and they are fitted to the car at the moment, thanks for the help guys , looks like a skinier tyre could be the answer then! ------------- i didnt do it!! |

You may be able to recoup some money back on the tyres by flogging them on ebay - I did when I bought 235/45/17's to put on my alpina reps which came off my old e28 - got £65.00 back on them in the end which was a help Paul ------------- 95 E34 530i V8 Auto Maldives Blue |

might well do that mate , been looking at some 235-40-18's for a decent price , think these might eliminate the problem, cant wait to get it sorted now cos the wheels look awsome
you say you have 235-45-18's on your wheels , do you have plenty of clearance to your suspension mount? or is going with the 40's to much? thanks for all the help!! ------------- i didnt do it!! |

Yep, no problems whatsoever as they're keeping the same wheel size as the stock 15" x-spokes. I nearly bought a set of those which do look very nice on the E34 but never heard from the guy who was selling them. I really like your wheels. There are actually two type 42 wheels. The ones you have are listed as the 'styling II type 42 composite wheels' and the ones I have are just type 42's and have no studs. Once I'd slapped these on my 5 I wished I had gone for alpina reps but cleaning was a doddle;

I used to have 8 &9 x 17 on my e32 love the style 42 but OH! the cleaning
Tyre wise I ran 255 rears with no fouling so try that as a 255/35 x 18  ------------- 2009 520d SE Business Edition Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience. |
