Ok so some mother****er has kindly driven or inserted some object into my drivers side door, denting it.  I am 99% certain who it is.  Does anyone know of some people I can hire to go and "convince" him that......oh no wait that wasn't the purpose of this thread.  I didn't mean to type that.  Please ignore that earlier statement.

On a more serious note, does anyone know of someone who can do these type of bodywork repairs.  It not a stone chip, its actually the reverse; the metal is physically dented but the paintwork doesn't seem to be broken at all.

Do we have a dentsaway type service over here or anything like that??

Was the paint damaged? Or just dented? I have a ding from a door on my rear quarter panel. No way of accessing it easily I was told. At least yours can be fixed, hopefully.

Jeez, I can't believe you know who did it. Anyone here knows that if the touched my car they would rather be in hell than face me.

p.s. I hope you don't think I went all the way over there to do a job on your car after the PM i sent you earlier.

haha Kin when I got your PM I initially thought, hang on a second I just posted that seconds ago..he couldnt be that quick could he?

No its not a stone chip or like a shopping trolley dint....the paintwork is physically unaffected but the underlying bodywork is dented.

You know the sort you get when lets say, ooooh for example, your neighbour with her 4x4 that she has no clue of the dimensions of (and can barely see over the steering wheel) and has a tow bar on the back is trying to do a three point turn (actually a 7 point turn) and kindly decides to reverse the tow bar into your door?  Oh sorry was I too specific?

I woul just go to the neighbour and said, excus me you dented my car. If the heigh of the dent and shape is similar I can't see her denying it. I don't mind paying for things, just not when someone else is responsible.

There's a bunch of dentdoctors in the Dublin area - the lads have contacts for them.

A towbar sounds like it'd make a more significant 'dent' though... hope this random punteress in her 4x4 pays in some form or another for this transgression!

Yeah, call dial a dent or dent master, I think Richie might have a contact number of them or else try the web.

Actually lads, I was down with Carcraft at lunchtime, and when we washed down the door so that it was completely clean, its much worse than I initially feared.

Once we got the dirt and crap off, I could see the paint actually is damaged and stretched (there is a physical angular crease which means it can't be just tapped out).  Also, where I thought the damage was confined to a small area above the door side trim strip, its also dented below the trim strip and the whole door trim strip plus the paint below the trim and the front wing is all scuffed and marked (it looks like you know when someone is doing a three point turn and think they are just about clear and inches forward to complete it but actually has just damaged a very broad area of my car rather than a single bump).

It looks like basically the whole door needs a respray.  I am so pissed off about it and if I could get my hands on the person responsible well.....grrrrrrrrrrr

Since you park the car outdoors and it will help with minor knocks.

'Tis only a bit of paint and filler, I've had over 1800 euro worth of damage done in a car park and had to cough up myself - I'll take that any day over the above !
