Hi, Can someone please help. I'e recently purchased a 99 T plate 328i Convertible and its the M-Technik version with kit and extras inc Tan leather sports seats, where the front pulls out. My brother has the same seats, but black in his 99 328i coupe. But his have heated switches. I've checked and both seats have the same wiring underneath (ie.heating wire), but mine doesnt have the switches. How do I make my heated seats work if at all? I don't mind spending a few pennies on wiring from the stealerships because it only cost £38 for a fog wiring kit on my 95 318i. Many Thanks Brendan Waldron ------------- Brendan

I could be wrong but I would think that if your seats do not have the switches it is unlikely that the heating elements inside the seats are fitted. These are inside the seatbase and seat back and I would imagine its a major job to get them fitted. The wiring you see is more likely to be for the seatbelt pre-tensioners. You also, as Steven said, will not have the heat matting. The good news, is that BMW do a kit which includes the matting, wiring and the switches. From memory it's not that expensive either (I think about £3-400)...... The bad news is the labour is quoted at 15 hours!!!! Mainly because you need to remove the leather from the seats to fit the matting.
