just to let ye know i can get second hand slicks if anyone is interested for the next BDD or whenever. i got the set for narusa. slicks plus his new lsd knocked 5 sec's of his lap time -very impressive.  three of the four tyres will easily do another 1 or 2 more track days, the fourth tyre was on passengers side (narusa's driver side -lhd-) and this one gets the most hammering around mondello as its mainly right hand turns in mondello.

just said i'd let ye know as see where a few have posted "i need slicks"

About what price would you be looking for 15's? Myself and EoinO were thinking on getting a set for the track car.

Maybe I could stay on the track then

And how much for 225/50/16's? And what about "cut" slicks so we could drive on the road, or is that allowed?  I really suffered with my tyres on Saturday. And I'm suffering today as well coz I need four new ones.

Do what I do - keep old road tyres for track use on a different set of rims!

remember if you use slicks your suspension especially busshings will take a lot of hardship with the extra grip.

ideally you need solid poly bushes with stiffer shocks/springs and arb's otherwise the car will start to eat suspension components.

i'll try answer all questions

as eamo said want car set up well, maybe strut brace also cause you'll be cornering alot faster. good brakes (dot 5.1 and good pads(green, red, yellow stuff ebc pads or other brand.). over fil car slightly with oil or fit a baffle to sump. they reccomend to modify e30 m3 baffle in sump for some tracks.

its very easy to get 17 inch slicks as this is what the big boys get. but can get 13's 15's 16's and 17's. tyres i get are definately not road legal. we have 13's on our bmw 2002 and get at least four track days out of them as the car is so light. i have 16's on my e30 m3 - three track days. depends on weather conditions if really warm day wear more. we cut the slicks for our 2002 and use them in the wet find them to be very good. get a tyre cutter of friend who uses it for cutting truck tyres. and competition tyres

roughly in or around 50 euro each tyre give or take 10 euro either way. i can also arrange meeting people half way most the time as in midlands at weekend and dublin during week or at events.

narusa's tyres were 50 euro each hope you dont mind me quoting this tom. i have two 17's at the moment but gave 75 euro each for them as told they are a very good tyre from supplier he's a very genuine guy and wouldnt b**l***t.

this is not a very good pic of photo (as not close enough) of tyres we had on our 2002 but you can see the three holes in line, this is marker for depth left. will take better pics at weekend

my 16's i bought were 48 euro each with 3mm depth left. friend bought exact same set (make, compound) brand new but in a 13 for rallying they were 150 each and had 5mm of rubber depth.

also have these three rims for sale if anyone interested. they are 17 x 8.5 ac schnitzers ideal for track use perhaps. there are no tyres, as they are gone. 1 rim has been welded so will throw that one in if wanted. 75 euro for two and will throw in third one free if wanted
