Hi all,

My flipping boot won't shut! I can hear the solenoid or switch clicking when I press the remote or the in-car switch but the darn thing won't catch. Tied up with an embarassing piece string at the mo... Any ideas?

1997 E39

Thanks

Has it got a button you press in? Mine keeps sticking cos' it needs oiling, when it sticks in the boot won't shut as the catch is still open. Try pulling it the button out then shutting lid.

Unfortunately it was the solenoid - £85.83 incl fitting at Wellsway, Bath.

Ouch...
Last time I bought a solenoid it was £5 from a scrapper, as mine went on one of my back doors. Dealer price apparently was about £60 (and theres nowt on them)
