 Hello Marie-Noëlle,

How are you, OK I hope      not heard from you for a while.

The event is a dealer visit and there will be opportunity to drive some nice new BMW's which will include the M6.    You will need to bring your driving licence and club membership card ( no doubt for insurance purposes ). If you can make it that would be great.

If you look on the events forum there will be more details.

Steve.

Managed to make it today, although late...

But rewarded: really impressed by the power (!) and handling of the 520d sport.

Bit noisy though and diesel smell was coming in the cabin

Averaged 32-33mpg...only

Hello Marie-Noëlle,  I agree, I also was impressed with the 520d      a lot more than the 320d which I did not like to much.  My favourite drive of the day was the 130i M Sport. It was a car I could live with very easily. Plenty of power, great handing, a very good feel to the steering and brakes, lovely driving position, 4 doors and just about enough room for my lifestyle. All I need now is to find about £25k.

Oh well I'll have to wait about 4 years until they are down in my price bracket.     Steve.

I went on tech update for when they bought out 4cyl diesel for new 5 series (E60) at bmw. We had tto compre it to merc which was sh*te to sy the least and Audi A4 2.0tdi, To be honest Audi was welll better car. Better performance and nicer to drive. Going on tech update in july for new coupe, drive new twin turbo version cant wait.

Hehe my favourite moment was definitely seeing Dad and Kev bobbing down the motorway in a mini convertible with the top down

Popeye and I certainly had a good giggle

On a slightly more serious note... regarding the cars, I was only a passenger as I am not driving yet, YET being the most important word right, Dad  so my comments are therefore limited.

The first car we went in was the 520d. The back was huge! I nearly got lost in there, sinking into the squishy leather seats! On a long journey I'd probably get a bad back sitting for a long period of time in those seats though from lack of support. The computer in the car was confusing aswell, too much stuff to think about really and trying to navigate through it find out how to turn the radio off took us a while

I preferred the seats in the 320d, closer to what I'm used to and I'm sat more upright so I can see more too. Important for short people like me  Ride was quite bumpy though, which we didn't have in the 520d. We discovered the bumps when driving out of the dealership which we didn't realise were there as we didn't feel them in the 520d!

The 130i was cool and Dad was certainly impressed as he has already said. Thumbs up for thrill aswell as comfort!

Oh and the apple crumble was lovely!
