After buying everything with "m30" related on it for my 335i project see http://www.335itc.co.uk - http://www.335itc.co.uk
i ended up with a big bore throttle body (adapted by alpina527), and the six throttle bodies form the m635.
Saving the 6 throttle bodies for my main project (335i), i decided to fit the big bore throttle body to the 635i i have just got hold of. No pics yet, but i have them, just have to get them uploaded.
I have taken no measurements, times etc, but here's what i noticed: -
Engine pickup from idle has been massivley improved. Pulling out from a junction no longer requires you to pre-load the throttle. You can get the engine to pick up as you press the throttle, no delay. This, added with a much more precise throttle also makes changing gears easier as syncing the rpm to gear speed involves alot less "feel and guess work".
At a guess, i can get the economy meter to sit a little higher than normal
Flat out acceleration i didnt really notice anything, but overall the engine feels alot more eager, but doesnt seem quicker.
The driveability is a big difference, and on this alone i would recommend this.
Has anyone else had this and/ or fitted the 6 throttle bodies to a normal m30 engine?
The only other mod to the car was the k&n panel filter that was there before i purchased the car. I expect these two mods compliment each other very well.
