With Gaydon rapidly approaching, I am looking for a selection of 5 series to put on the 5 series stand, As the club hasnt told me again how many spaces there will be, I presume there are 15 spaces again this year. Im looking for all 5 series models, from old to new, either modded or clean standard. ------------- 528 for now |

When is Gaydon? Mine is pretty good nick apart from a few stone chips and the fact i got to csrried away with some wet and dry sandpaper and went through the top coat of paint on a patch on the bonnet, so i now have a small patch of darker red on the front edge. Would be happy to help out though. Paddy |

Mine is pretty clean but nothing like Brybusa, that is just so impressive. I wax mine when i can but it gets used all year round and i rekon i have stone attracting bonnet.

Wheres all the five series owners went, loads of comments that there wasnt a five stand at gaydon and now there is everyones went shy. Ive got an E12, cple of E28's one with nitrous, and a few e34's confirmed, so come on guys get the 5's down to gaydon.

yep-bodyworks all good now (except for a bit of lacquer peel on one door). I am having the rear wheels refurbed on Monday as I drove over a pothole a couple of days ago & it looks like someone has taken a bite out of the wheel & the other one has a few scratches. It has a couple of probs-steering fluid/rear suspension resorvoir is leaking where I let some t**t who obviously didnt have a clue what he was doing do a bit of work & He put red liquid in instead of green & if you mix the 2 it doesnt do the seals any good. I have had an idling prob since I got it which has had a few symptoms-I have replaced the throttle switch,air filter,cleaned out all 6 butterflies & the tubes between the air box as well as replacing the rubber covers,will do the throttle cable this w-end. Basically sometimes it alternates between 750 & 1250 rpm without touching the throttle but if you pop the bonnet & adjust the throttle cable slightly (increasing rpm) it goes away & also it takes a while dropping down rpm & Sometimes sticks when you take your foot of the throttle-if it is sticking & you just put gentle pressure on the throttle under the bonnet in the downwards direction it sorts itself out so I am guessing its the cable or maybe the return spring on the throttle is a bit weak. still its all good fun & I love having the ability to destroy many cars which dont expect it ! ------------- 1990 e34 M5,Macau Blau Metallic,Extended Champagne Leather,Auto Climate,Hella clear corners,Rondell 058,SS exhaust,

Thats good to hear Paul, I suppose the M5 wasn't ready for when we had our combined EA meet at Snetterton for the BMW kumho championship. We had an avus blue e34 M5 3.8 there which was de-badged which looked rather nice and there were still free tickets left over. Got my ticket and stand pass for Gaydon today. Cheers Paul ...should be a cracking day out. Had to decline the Aston test track event as ill have the g/f and our 2 young children there on the day...over 16's only which I totally understand. Does anyone know if there is access to water on the site to clean our cars when we arrive?...and i dont mean 500ML bottles from the on site caterers! Bryan

Don't know Bryan, but I maybe travelling there on the Saturday stopping in at the Travelodge 5 miles away so will find service station where I can clean the car down the night before. sure will. Couldn't mine if john had put name down for 5 stand so phoned yesterday to get pass and join 5. Have just bought smoked front and side indicators with the prospect of getting smoked rear at some point also those silver bulbs and carbon roundals. Hopefully get it all by end of the week and fitted also just as well im on holls buy time gaydon comes round i will have to go back to work for a rest ------------- If you can't be good don't get caught -------------------------- |

Location at Gaydon is given in the last issue of the Car Club mag, basically down the entrance road and turn right at the bottom and then the last pitch on the right. -------------

Try and get on the stand on the day Paul if your a chancer! Anyway, ive spent 5 hours cleaning and fettling the car so far, reckon theres another couple of hours work left on it for Saturday as sadly my run around banger is out of action at the mo so im going to have to use the car in the wet weather this week. Thankfully Sat and Sun forecast dry so final prep and arch cleaning can be done Saturday.. Should be good boys n girls

It runs 100hp jets with an start hit of 30 hp and over 3 secs hits 100hp full power, any more than 100hp you have to start retarding the timing, another box of tricks is then required, 100hp is enough. With the chip and nitrous I have I must be getting 330bhp when needed. -------------

well sadly I will not be able to make Gaydon. just got the M5 back & I cant believe how much better it drives-it is now so much quicker . I had the airflow meter changed as well as a few other bits & pieces & it flies now & is so smooth its unreal-I took her out (private road of course) & she hit 140 without breaking a sweat much quicker than before. I have fallen back in love with my car I am glad to say. Unfortunately I cannot make Gaydon now as my wifes car has now packed up & cant get in to be checked out till next Monday & if I leave her without a car any longer she will kill me. I had the strange experience of being a passenger in the M5 yesterday while she drove it-at 60 behind a caravan & didnt once try & overtake anyone-poor thing-probably thinks it has a pensioner driving it !
