Guys,
Ive just bought some 18" BBS BMW split rims which were optional on the 7 series from 1995 on. They are 8J front with ET 20 and 9J rear with ET 22. I have bought them to fit my E30 M3 which uses the same stud and offset as the 5 and 7 series, but what is the centre bore of these wheels? My M3 is 72.5mm and I know that the E39 5 series is 74.1mm. If the bore is 72.5mm the new wheels will fit straight on, but if its the same as the E39 5 series then they will need wheel spigots. Please get back asap! Thanks! |

It is possible that the e38 ones will fit without spigots as I have seen some e38 rims fit e32 (same as your e30) and destroy the spigots as they were fitted because they had so gap they were compressed and destroyed.
so try the cheapskate spigot fix first by emptying a couple of cans of lager or other choice refreshment, cut the now empty can into 10mm wide strips around the circumference over lap with tape three of these around the middle of each strip attach with tape the next strip I mean, then coppergrease the hub and mould the alloy strips around the hub centre. Put wheel on enjoy another refreshment as you cant be too sure  and admire the high satisfaction spigot fix  ------------- 2009 520d SE Business Edition Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience. |
