I'm getting a slight pinking when the engine is under light/moderate load from about 1800 to 2700 rpm. Higher RPM and it seems to clear ok. Also in the 1800 to 2800rpm range when you lift of the throttle slightly it momenterily (fraction of a second) gets worse then then the noise goes. This lifting off of the throttle seems to provoke it more than actual acceleration.

What should I check/try first before mechaincal digging starts?

Otherwise it idles smoothly. It's slightly rattly in winter on cold startup tho for the first 30 seconds but once oil gets to the top of the engine it quitens down.

Nev

Check all your plugs - leads - ht lead - dizzy cap - timming - all that sort of things
