"In pursuit of perfection" is the new Lexus tag line.

Maybe "The Ultimate Posting Machine"?

Going off the 50/50 perfect balance thing and the fact its a discussion forum how about something on the lines of,

BMW Board - for a balanced opinion.

Now then, now then how's about ....

For quickness, ease and cost efficiency I would suggest we just go for a sticker with the forum url

I'm not especially keen on the slogan but not bothered enough to want it changing.

Personally, I'm not a great fan of tag-lines or slogans...But it isn't bad enough to prevent me wanting a sticker..with, or without!

Firstly, does the forum need a slogan?

If it's there just for the sake of it, and means little, then whats the point?

Surely a simple strapline such as "The Online BMW Community" would suffice?

I certainly don't want to be Pushing my car anywhere.... sounds more like a tag line for the old skoda club!

No tag needed, we're the best, we know we're the best, and so do they....

I think keep the BMW Owners Forum.
I uess it might be better off as text from a search engine perspective.

Do we need to do some sort of optimisation to increase the chances of direct hits?

Did a search here and we didn't score too highly...

The previous version of the forum was quite well ranked by the search engines. It will take time to regain that level.

Not that I know owt about the how aspect, but aren't there ways (keywords, directory references etc.) of building the site that kind of force to rank it higher

Does that mean that the Car Club will pick up that ranking, based on the domain name?

possibly not. They made the mistake of placing their forum in a subfolder so the currently linked pages will all give a 404.
e.g. the 2nd result on http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=BMW+Nikasil+issue&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 - this (for me) refers to a page I did up on nikasil. Currently the link goes nowhere but google will eventually pick it up at its new location.
