Just to be akward (as usual)...

I may be doing the sprint in Tynagh on the 5th... but If I'm not, I'll deffo be on for the Fr. Ted drive.

On the other hand, if I am doing the sprint, I'll probably be staying in Loughrea, so I might call into the big smoke for the evening and have a drink with you Chaps and Ladies!

So I'll probably be around, but there is no need to book anything for me!!

Denis

Gus - reckoned you probably wouldn't need the accomadation!

Denis - why don't you come down and do the karting on Saturday, do the night out and stay in town, and head up to the sprint on Sunday morning?

It's very very tempting.... but I'm broke! And I've tax and insurance to pay next month!!

Will have to see closer to the event! I'd probably stay in Loughrea anyway, as I have a place to stay!!

Right, it looks like I will have to come into work on the Sunday morning for a few minutes... which is a pain, 'cos I work in Waterford. So it looks like I won't make it to either the Sprint or the run.

So those who haven't signed up (or are missing from the list on the opening post) GET A MOVE ON!!!

Latest:  Only a couple of rooms available in the hotel now, and the restauraunt is looking for a definite number as they have another group looking to book and need to know how much space they have!

So those of you who haven't confirmed, STOP DITHERING!

2 changes.

The first is that Ben will be unfortunately detained on Saturday in Limerick, so will only be joining us for the drive.

The second is the restauraunt - the owners father died so I'll have to find another one.  Kirbys was nice last year, so I'll try them again.

Kin - at least stay overnight.  You can head back up early on Sunday morning...

Jimbo - aiming 11am in the KingsValley for brekkie (their breakfast normally ends earlier, but am pushing to get people a lie-in!!!)

Spokey/Horsetan - sorry ye can't make it.  Would have been nice to have some people from across the water.  Next year, perhaps.

Dinner will be in a new restauraunt that opened last Saturday.  The people who have it have an excellent reputation in their other restauraunts.

Ok i have a route planned out, its down to two options, the one id prefer is the coast route, should be a way nicer drive, but it depends on how long it is so im off to drive it now,

Ill meet up with the rest of ye at kinvarra and from there:

-burren - bealaclugga - ballyvaughan - murrough - fanore - doolin - liscannor - lahinch - ennistymon - kilfenora - kilnaboy *where the house is* - then on to corofin - fountain cross and finish in ennis..

See map here:

Other option is again start in kinvarra then on to:

Burren - bealaclugga - ballyvaughan - lisdoonvarna - kilfenora - kilnaboy - corofin - fountain cross - ennis.

I think the first would be a nicer drive but ill go now and see how long it will take, Let me know which one you would prefer.

Ben

Ok im just back and have the route planned, its the first choice above, took an hour and a half from kinvarra to the house is that ok with everyone?

Actually met the mc cormack family at the house so i called in and asked if it would be ok to come and take a few pics etc on sunday and they said no problem at all, jesus its a real farmhouse alright there was chickens everywhere in the yard!!

Well let dermot decide on the food as there were too many options on the way down!!

As for stops there are literally 100's, i have a few picked out but im gonna ask people on the day if ye wish to stop just flash and pull in if theres enough space for the group,

Now fingers crossed we get good weather, it was amazing today with the sun shine! pity i couldnt get out of the car for fear of freezing!!

Hi Fey.

I had planned to go, but got an email this morning from EVO Magazine to say I got a place on their drift course!! So I'm gonna save my €€€ for that. I can't wait!

Subject: evo drift day at Silverstone on 25th November

Hello

Thanks for registering for the evo drift tutorial.  We are writing to you to in order to arrange your place at Silverstone on Saturday 25th November
and to organise payment (please see a reminder of the details below)

Don’t delay, as places are limited!

Best regards

The evo team

------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------

You’ve seen the pictures, you’ve seen the videos and now it’s your turn to drift like Meaden, Bovingdon and Barker with our very own evo drift experience

Our experts will teach you how to balance a car in a power slide in both directions and use the weight of the car to induce a tailslide. You’ll even be using our cars, so you can burn rubber all day without worrying about large tyre bills!
An orientation and demonstration from our instructors will familiarize you with the Caterhams and you will be taught to steer the car using the throttle. Initially you may find yourself spinning the car as you deliberately provoke power oversteer. You will then learn how to kick the tail out and hold the slide by balancing smooth steering and throttle inputs. There are few feelings more satisfying than controlling a drift and the ‘grin factor’ is simply off the scale!
The instructors will teach you both in groups and individually and we guarantee that you will have drifted a car before the day is out! When your confidence has grown we will change to a more challenging track layout designed to allow you longer drifts. Ultimately there will be 4 courses with the last giving you the opportunity to show off your new drifting abilities at a higher speed and through multiple corners. Our team will judge the three best drifters of the day and award prizes, but everyone leaves with a smile and improved driving skills!

There will be a variety of evo prizes handed out and members of the evo team on hand for demonstration runs in some of our longtermers.

Places are strictly limited to just 32 drivers, the event takes place on Saturday 25th November at Silverstone.

The price for the full day is just £199 including a light lunch and all day refreshments.

According to Alex, the karting is at 2pm.  I'm trying to locate a map to Tynagh, which is close to Portumna.

On Sunday, breakfast is at 11 o'clock sharp in the Kingsvalley hotel (see link on opening post).  We'll leave there around 11:45 to 12, to be in Kinvara at the pier at 12:30.  Ben takes over from there.

Any problems, you can contact me on 087-9696835, as I'm not sure if I'll get online later on or in the morning (depends on the progress of the builders in the house!!!)

Ger - can you give me a call, please.  Thanks.

The Pallas guy wants us to start driving before 3pm. Basically we all need to be there by 2:30 at the latest so we should aim to be there for 2pm.

How long does it take to get to Tynagh from Loughrea?

Thanks for a great weekend Fey!, sorry we missed the start and the end but needs must etc.

@T-man: Sorry to hear that, truely sh1tty. Is it similar to Dee's dint? I'm dropping hers in on Wed, I'll ask for you there if you like?

You could always ring the hotel and see if the have CCTV, might find the guilty party that way?
