Just thought it was about time i introduced you to the products we've developed for BMW's - mainly designed for functional benefit (however we havent skimped out on the styling either!).

Firstly the stainless steel gearknobs:

CNC Machined in the UK from billet, these gearknobs make a significant difference to the gearchange, not only by removing the inherent notchiness but also by reducing throw due to a lower than OEM height. The resulting gearchange feels more precise and significantly smoother. There are 2 styles, the V1 and the V2 based on the E30 gearknob (you have a choice of emblems including OEM dogleg):

There's also a matching handbrake - again machined from high grade stainless steel with a unique internal profile to stop any slack or movement during use (unlike the usual aftermarket handles). This also comes with a machined stainless steel button larger than the standard plastic one which not only looks good but feels great to use.

To finish the set off - there's a stainless steel cigarette lighter plug (non-functional), here are some in-car pics of the products:

All these items are also available in a Titanium plated finish – a very specialised process which deposits a layer of Titanium over the stainless steel giving the aesthetic appeal of the dark gun-metal Titanium with the functional benefit of the stainless steel weight – this is a world first for aftermarket car accessories!:

Yes - these ones dont light up. I developed these gearknobs for functional benefit rather than aesthetic which you'll find most pleasing!

Its not possible to put a bend into the gearknob - you'll have more luck putting the bend into the gearstick itself although i wouldn't recommend it!

Perhaps if you install a short shift kit, the gearknob wont move away from the neutral position as much when in gear.

hi bilal, please could you tell me, the pics of the e30 m3 fitted in the car, are they on a short shift lever or standard? if they are short shift have you got any pics of aknob on a standard stick?

Err? where? E30 yes, (proper) M3 no - its RHD!

Hoover: I think that E30 did have a short shift kit - however i'm not sure if the height of the stick above the pivot was shorter than standard (the short shift is usually from larger distance between the pivot ball and the selector arm link point).

The V2 gearknob is about an inch shorter than the standard E30 one so will sit lower anyway to give a reduced throw and to look less awkward.

I'm looking into designing something for the Auto - not sure if it'll be feasible yet though!

Can you tell me, does the titanium wear off after prolonged use??

I've seen anodised stuff before and it seems to lose it's colour after a short while!

What would be the combined prices for a

The Titanium is naturally VERY hard wearing - since it is actually a titanium metal deposit rather than a chemical coating. I have the very first sample piece in contant use in my own car and i wear a ring - the Titanium is still as it was when new and the ring has only caused surface marks rather than scratching (its infact harder than the stainless steel base metal).
