the guy who's buying my dad's '06 318d is thinking about putting one of those fin aerial things on the car. he is under the impression that they are very cheap to buy. is this true?

the car must get a little paintwork before he picks it up so would it make sense to fit it for him or am i looking for trouble?

he reckons a friend in the trade told him they were 30 or 40 euro as a genuine part. he could of course, have gotten his wires crossed.

do you know how much they cost as a dealer part?

the car is going to the body shop in the next day or two and waiting for an ebay part is out of the question. if it is a cheap stock part, we could do it for him if, as i've said, provided we're not looking for trouble.

Noooooooo. Don't put one on an e36. Don't put any arial on an e36. The fins
are there for the sat nav. Some poeple put them on newer cars to make it
look like they have sat nav when they don't. Putting one on a car that was
not available with sat nav is a bit........

each to their own i suppose. but it will be sickening to see them go onto cars they don't belong to. let alone whether they are working or not.
