has the oil changed from castrol tws for the E46 M3 ?

seperate note i went to sytner today for some top up oil and they tried to give me longlife castrol oil untill i poited out to the chap that it does not go in a M3 and it is tws for the m3 and says so on the back , his excuse was sorry the E36 M3 uses the longlife oil and got mixed up with the years being close >> idiot methinks cos the E46 came out in 2001 and i said mine was 2003 model.
if i had mixed this wrong oil and my engine suffered a fail my warrenty would be useless yes .
