Hi all, got me a sewing machine noise coming from behind the accelerator, every time I give it gas.... off she goes ..... nit nit nit nit nit nit nit nit nit nit.... in all gears. what de phuq?

yup, it's a 95 318 IS coupe E36 M42 mate reckons there's a hole somewhere in the exhaust manifold thanks ------------- 318IS Coupe mtec Ford Thunderbird Coupe V6 ((oo==oo)) they mostly come out at night, mostly... |

Might have blown exhaust manifold gasket, or a crack in manifold. -------------

The manifolds on the M42 are made of different types of steel and are prone to cracking the welds. They can be rewelded quite successfully. Mine was done a couple of years ago. ------------- Cheers, Neil |
