Now that I have supercharged the Z4, I find the revs just climb too quickly and the acceleration also means you can't afford to glimpse at the rev counter. Therefore has anyone fitted a discreet but bright shift light?

Any recommendations?

Nice one, always been tempted by the ESS kits but it's a lot of money, plus the obvious insurance/resale problems.  May I ask how it affected your insurance and who you are with?

Insurance is now with Adrian Flux, you need to go with a specialist. I pay around £800 a year, up from around £500. I was 26 when I took the policy out, now 27, so not too bad with 4NCB. Still cheaper than trying to insure an M3 or Z4M for me anyway. Plus that covers other upgrades like brakes, body etc.

Now that is reasonable.  Hmm, more tempting now I know that.  Dammit!

I'm 28 and pay just under a grand for a 330Ci Sport (25,000 miles a year).  A group 20 car would be about £1500 for me.  I do have 9 points (6 active currently) over the past 5 years though.
