went up to london today in the M3, got into the busy bit and the sun came out, and ....a rad pipe went. the short 3 " bit that comes off the alloy rail at the front end of the head. Manage d to keep filling the header up till i got back down the motorway, then, a rock flew up off a tyre and belted a big crack in my screen

tell me, is the e30 m3 screen different from an e30?

Blimey! What a day. Yes the M3 is different from the E30 screen.
M3 screen is bonded, E30 not

I used my insurance, well Auto Windscreens IIRC, also got it right first time.................well, except the scuttle

Sound like you had one of those days, get yourself a complete hose kit, as the others will not be far behind.

RAC windscreens replaced mine, and it leaked water into the car all that winter.

It wasn't until the screen was removed that it could be confirmed that that was causing the leak. There was a 6 inch section at the top of the screen that hadn't bonded.

Moral is make sure they know what they are doing.

I second replacing all the hoses.

yeah got all the hoses on order from C3. got it going again tonight but i'll get some decent antifreeze and change it all and do the hoses at the same time.

got a mate that works for ACE windscreens who i know will do it right, not sure whether the insurers will be ok with him tho!

update, managed to get admiral.....after much heated discussion.....to ring ace windscreens and agree to have them fit it, so my mate did it, i waited till he got it out so i could look for rust. Its had a scuttle so ok..ish..a few other small areas up the pillers got treated.

main thing was its in right, the old one did have some glueless areasFrown_III
