....in winning today Race 1 of the BTCC at Croft!

It was about time a car as God intended reasserted itself in the championship

First win in the BTCC for BMW since 1996!

Quote Northern Irishman Turkington, starting second on the grid, led into the first corner in his Team RAC BMW 320si and was never headed. He also set the race’s fastest lap.

not so lucky in race 2 - blame Jason Plato (I'm sure his race tactics will be the subject of later discussion! )

Quote Italian ace Giovanardi needed to drive back through the order after his Vauxhall tangled mid-race with early leader Colin Turkington’s Team RAC BMW 320si and both their cars became stranded briefly in the middle of the track.

Race 3 - BMW 2nd & 3rd.

Quote Finishing the race in second in his Team RAC BMW 320si was 20-year-old Tom Onslow-Cole who led the opening lap before being passed by Giovanardi.

Third was the similar, family-run car of another of the BTCC’s rising young stars, Mat Jackson.

Congratulations indeed, racing is very close this year.

Less said about Plato the better.

Brilliant result indeed.

Plato has always been a very aggressive driver but thats one of the things that makes BTTC so enjoyable to watch. Contact sports are so much more fun

then he should be in banger racing - oh, sorry, he thinks he is

(roll on the DTM at Brands this coming week-end, no BMW's, but still some proper - clean - racing )

Don't rub in the DTM race too much - I'm still well gutted I can't go next Sunday as my son has his last football tournament then! I will be at Snetterton for the BTCC though!

Hurrah for BMW! As for plato, nothing will change him. It was him and Rob Collard who liked tangling last season. Didn't he end up in a field last year?  Maybe driving a tractor in a field would tame him more!

Fair comment, but then why does he cry like a child and throw his toys out the pram when he's on the receiving end?

If he can't take it he shouldn't dish it out. JMO

I was at croft for the race on sunday.

Plato is a right miserable git. He was hanging around out the back of the pit garage between races and totally ignored a young lad after an autograph. I wouldn't care, he was hardly being mobbed, most of us where too busy ogling the girls...

The first race was a good result. It's nice to see BMs doing well in the BTCC again.I might actually start watching it again.
