job's to do

sort some scabby paint, paint the O/S wing (new replacement fitted) fit a new front wheel bearing, rear suspension arm bush, front fog's.

tonight i changed over the leather seat's, speaker shelf and front grille's + eye brow spoiler's all from my red one

also hoovered out all the carpet's, mat's and boot.
not great pic's but this is it with the leather all fitted

if the weather hold's out then tomorrow night i'll start on the engine bay, then front wheel bearing and rear suspension arm bush  then hopefully insure and tax it and hit the road's .. while i'm preping the body work  8)  for some painting

Paul, will it make any difference to it's running? .... would it slow it down a bit if i turn it round  .. not being funny but it's blinkin rapped this car, on the way home i left my mate in his tuned 2ltr Focus he reconned he was about 50 more than the national limit at time's to try catch me  not a bit of smoke came out it either, clutch need's bled & new fluid "it's black!" cooling water need's changed "it's dark brown!"  .. just need's a dam good service

need to fix the speedo so i know when i'm at 30mph .. etc

it has 10mth's mot so once ive done the wheel bearing and rear bush i'll be using it, the guy wanted £500 for it but i got it for £300

treated the nasty paint work to a treat tonight, first i cleaned the crap of the car with a 50/50 mix of T-cut and cheap polish ... does the same job as T-cut but come's off far easier, then i went over it all with tar remover then finaly (for tonight) i gave it a coat of stage 3 McGuire's, i'll do it with 2 & 1 at the weekend

looking far better already .. even the rusty patche's look better! also going to fit the chrome arche's from my 2 door for now, i'll prep and paint the rear arche's & O/S wing later  once i hopefully have it running like it should?

Paul ive changed the ICV round and it's running just the same

managed to blag the use of a ramp today and checked out the 325

NEED'S: rear spring, front O/S wheel bearing, speedometer sensor plug, as someone has cut it of!, sump is slightly damp, rear O/S driveshaft is slightly damp (outer side), one plate needing welded right bellow the battery (boot) apart from that "it is solid underneath"

think that's all .. once ive replaced that stuff i'll start on the body work

also fixed the driver's leccy window, replaced both mirror's, fitted some ICE, gutted the dash and window's

i think i might get in to some bother once ive got this car running sweet  i can't help but twitch the steering on sharp bend's not a clever thing to do with a broken spring and wobbly wheel though!

so far ive done these jobs to "Project 325i"  ..

de-chromed the front grille
fitted eye brow spoiler's
fitted 1 rear suspension spring
fitted one rear shocker
fitted one rear top suspension mount .. will fit the other new top mount and shock this weekend.
fitted leather interior
fitted wire-loom for the heated seats
fitted rear shelf/speaker cover
fitted 2 rear speakers
fitted 3 spoke M-sport leather steering wheel
replace a few bulbs
replaced fuses
sorted drivers elecy window
fitted elecy mirrors
replaced the air box air feed hose
fitted a coolant level sensor
flushed out and filled the coolant system
fitted a CD head unit

sorted the speedometer sensor
fitted a new O/S front wheel bearing
de-greased inner wing's and door post's
cleaned all carpets + Dash + all trim (except door panels .. gonna change them)

just got the clutch to sort out now?? looking like either the slave cylinder or the servo unit so i'll probably do both

then it's on to the body work .. .. repair one rear wheel arch, sort a few scabby areas and prep and paint a front wing

it'll never be a show car .. it just give's me something to play with so i don't go even daffter on my E39

my real aim is to sell my E39 and move on to a E30 or E36 cabrio and to keep the grey E30 as a winter runner?

we'll see what happens??

this was the last pics i took of my 320 E30 last saturday .. before we parted company

and some of the reason as to why i gave up on it

most of the parts ive fitted to the 325 came from the 320, so far ive only spent £48 for a new front wheel bearing asembley

yip .. i sure was, infact if i'd never bought the 325i  .. i'd probably still have the 320i sat at the side of my drive "gleaming"  (well realy hideing the rot)

the latest E30 has realy taken up a lot of my night time .. ehh .. time  so much in fact that today was the first time in over 3 weeks that i gave my E39 a polish! and boy O boy was it in need of it

got a decent break in the weather today
so i smoothed the wing, masked of the door and bumper and gave it a nice smooth coat of primer  :D

first i removed the indicator and rub strip, it's a new panel but it's had a few wee knocks and it is un-painted.

also got a start on the rear arch

it's had a bit of a knock at some point and is a tad oot O shape i took a wire brush and a grinder to it and cleaned away all the rough paint to the bare metal, then i coated it all in "chemical metal" you paint it on to the bare metal and it treats any rust, it reacts with rust to create a solid surface

i was happy to see that there was/is no rot on the rear arch just out of shape!

since i took they pic's ive re-shaped the rear arch and it's now ready for a skim of filler

that'll do for noo    ive still to get filler for the rear arch and a few tins of Dolpin Grey and clear coat

these lockups are barely big enough to park a car in, no cat-swinging room at all

if i had Eds workshop i'd have a go at building a kit car
