My friend bought a 22 Year old VW Golf.  The car had been in the same familly for years and had been garaged all its days.  The interior is imaculate, the rear seats not having been sat on :D and it stil has the original radio.  A total unmolested example of a Mk 2 golf.

The paint on the car was badly oxidized and cloudy.  The car looked cream when it turned up.  I was very pleased with the outcome :D
Not bad for a £300 car.

Befores

Stage 1.
The car was inspected and foamed with degreaser to release some of the grime from the paint.  It was then clayed.  The arches were treated with degeaser.

Stage 2.
The car was then compounded with Blackfire compound.

Stage 3.
The car was then polished with Blackfire finishing polish.

Stage 4.
The car was then coated in Chemical guys Wet Mirror Finish.

Stage 5.
The car was then coated in Blackfire extra gloss polish.

Stage 6.
Car was then coated in Megs #21 Sealent.

Stage 7.
Car was then waxed with collinite.

Stage 8.
Cars plastics were treated with Natural shine by chemical guys.

Here are the During Pics

You can see the difference the compounding made to the bonnet with the 1/2 and 1/2 shots.

Both sides done

Roof 1/2 and 1/2

Whole roof done

The sides after polishing

The Final Pics.  The car was taken outside.  Even though it was dark and dreary outside, the car was still shining.

The Arches :D

The paint is really glossy now and shines.  Dave just has the wheels to sort out and it will be good to go.

Cheers for looking.

Yeah.  I was really surprised with the condition it was in.  It was Mint.  Really makes me want to find a mint old car to work on.
