Not really a fan of the 1 series but thats the 1st white one I've seen and I like it, those alloys really make a difference.

Very nice car, nice choice.

Enjoy

Thanks for all the complamentry replies and i have to admit it does look even better than i hoped and i think the 18's have something to do with that.

Also I can confirm that I personally think BMW have cracked getting a car on runflats to ride properly. Its firm dont get me wrong but it rides better than the E46 330ci i traded in on saturday and over poor roadsurfaces e.g. the M73 Concrete surface the roadnoise in the 120d is nothing like as bad as the 330. It also feels so much more chuckable than the e46 and seems to be able to carry a bit more speed through the twisties and if the DSC cuts in it's not as noticeable either.

Will need to get along to a meet sometime so you can see it in the flesh.

Wow love the colour. I love the 1 serise not really for the way it looks but the way it drives.

If I had no kids or wife for that matter Id buy a 130i.

My preference would be a Golf GTI or a Focus ST, the latter is an absolute cracker of a car!!

I'm not a big fan of the 1 Series but I have to say I really do like your 120d, white really makes it look alot better especially with those alloys!

Golf in R32 trim yes. Front wheel drive with too much power imho.

My wifes 150bhp golf is a pain in the asre when its wet. Traction controll on all the time in any gear. At least the 130i is driving from the correct wheels. i.e. the back.

I have driven neither, but from what I read the Golf is just as good if not better than the R32. 197bhp going through the front wheels isn't that bad, there are cars with much more such as the Vectra OPC that has 260bhp. The R32 is much heavier because of the four wheel drive system and the heavier 3.2 V6 is more smooth and refined than the R32 sporty pretensions would lead you to believe. Also bear in mind that the GTI costs only 35k and the R32 costs 47k!

I dont compair the gti or ST with the 130i. There not in the same price range or performance. I have driven all of the above and In my opionion the 130i would be my choice. thats all.

Your car looks good Alan. Like most of the new models although the dashboards are a let down in my opinion. Don't see too many white BM's indeed.

I was reading an article a few weeks ago that says White cars command between 10-15% less than coloured cars and black cars are the priciest. Anyone got the back up on this? Just thinking of when your selling that's all. Maybe thats why the police are buying silver cars.

Diesel sports are the way to go. Am I biased. oh yeah

Alan.

I'm loving the white 1 series.

I rented a Focus ST last weekend and did about 300 miles in it. Initially I loved it, it's fast and the seats are probably the best I've ever sat on but I was happy to hand it back at the end of the weekend.

It's a bit too chav-tastic for my liking and I felt the plastics on the interior were a bit cheap feeling

It looks great. As others have said, the white looks brilliant! As some mags have been saying, that white is coming back into fashion. The 1 series must be one of the most trendiest of white cars available, especially in M sport guise.

Whats the mpg on this? I wouldn't mind one myself, my e34 does 32mpg on a good run and probably 28-30 in town.

The Interior plastics and dash are much improved on the facelifted One, now its the 3 that looks like the cheap one inside.

As for being worth less fir being white if it was a 116es maybe, hopefully a White 120d M Sport will be a rare good looking car and least it wont show every mark like a black one would.

As for MPG went from Grimsby to Auld Inn's at cumbernauld on £25 plus what ever was in the tank from the factory last Saturday. Filled it and so far done 220 miles and the obc shows 46.3 MPG with 270 miles left on the range and just over half a tank left on a mixture of town A & B road driving.

The engine is quite tight at the moment but it has loosened off a bit already so it MPG should improve a bit when its run in, or stay about the same if i start driving it a bit harder.

One thing though it is very very chuckable feels like my old Cooper S but with a better ride, makes my old 330ci feel like a bit of a bus.

when were they facelifted?  i found the interior plastics very low-rent on 2006 118d, like the e46 but a bit worse

the indicators drove me to distraction and the ride very fidgety on runflats, but i'm sure an owner would quickly adapt

yours is a nice looking car though

The first facelift cars were out about the end of April as i had to wait a few weeks for Eastern to get there 120d demo, the ride is much improved, so much so that the M Sport 120d on 18" runflats rides better and my old M Sport 330 on 18".

After 2 days you get used to the indicators, tap up or down for 3 flashes or push down or up for down for on. you just need to mind to push the stalk the same way if you want to cancel.

The motor's still very tight and the book says keep it under 3500 for the first 1000 miles. But in 2nd & 3rd you see more of the DSC light than you ever did in the 330 as it's got a lot of torque even from 2000 - 3500 and you can feel it got some poke.

A 330 would eat it in a straight line but i think the 120d has more usable power if you know what i mean.

This is only the second one I have seen in White.  One sits in the traffics / council buildings in charring cross, its really nice and I didnt really like white cars at first.

My aunt just picked up her 118d Msport yesterday in blue.  Really nice, they have grown on me a lot.
