Hi guys,

I'm new to the Forum (and BMW).

I've just bought a 1989 e34.

Silver, 140000 miles, purchased from the first owner (me being the second owner on the old Irish log book).

It's only a 2 litre but it's for cruising so i'm not too pushed (yet). The bodywork is immaculate and being garaged all it's life has really saved the paint. I'll get pics up asap but just wanted to say Hi.

I'm in Oranmore, Galway by the way.

Mark.

Welcome Mark - sounds like a good one; look forward to seeing pictures. The E34 really is one of BMW's very fine efforts. Good luck and well wear!

kbannon - share your total lack of enthusiasm for HP; never read any of the books and have not lasted through any of the movies. No intention to hijack the thread for Potter bashing I just thought it was amusing to meet a like-minded individual, especially with all the recent hype...

Yup, original dealers stickers in place and everything.

I was very impressed by the old style log book. It feels much more official than the one page jobby we have now.

Ah. A man of few words. Or a man of few letters even.

Welcome to the forum 1989 520. Hope she goes well for you. They're a good
solid car and with one owner it should have plenty left. Well ware.

I've added nearly 12 more at this stage but the only one I didn't like was 30; seemed too much like the end of an era... (edit: Of course it wasn't - you'll be alright, celebrate).

Happy Birthday!!!

If it's been serviced in Fahys, then you're on to a winner!

Timing belt and all ancilaries done at 121000 miles. I've just had a full service done and my mechanic (not fahys) said it was one of the cleanest examples he'd seen. I think this says a lot considering it's an Irish car from new.

On the down side, someone took a chunk out of my perfect paint this afternoon in a car park... I'm slightly miffed, to say the least.
