Mine passed MOT last week with a clean bill of health.  £50.35 for the privilege right enough.

Nice one iAN!

Good luck Rossi!

Has your E36 already been fixed in the usual MOT failure spots? I'm really hoping there isn't much more mine can fail on now I've done front-rear brake pipes, front balljoints and front springs!

I failed mine the other day (not due till the end of the month though)...... loose windscreen wiper blade (d'oh!).... a quick move and crimp will fix that, driver's side headlight aim too high (still need to fix that) and.... track control arm loose..... I replaced the whole front end 2 blooming months ago and one of my bushes is shot already Not buying suspension parts cheap from ebay.de again

Just received new proper lemforder thrust arms and am waiting for the powerflex guys to make me up poly bushes... just hope they come in time!

another thing i only just noticed this today, while looking at my cars past MOT's is one that actually surprised me!

since i bought my car 2 yrs ago ive only covered 13K miles with it  i was saying to my wife about this and how i thought i'd covered more miles than that .. and her being a woman .. a very clever woman hit the nail on the head  .. by saying "ehh, Duh!! you have" just that you've been doing the extra thousands of miles in MY CAR!!!

 hehe god'amit she's right

Mines passed today as well - with a bit of a fright as he'd originally poss fail if he couldn't tighten up the steering as there was a bit of play in it! He sorted it and clean bill of health for another year! Just a couple of jobs for next year - new steering box and one brake pipe just starting to bubble through all for £65, well chuffed!

"Front spring broken" .... ( whats going on ?? second spring replaced in a year !!! )

"Hand brake below operating pressure "

So took it to get fixed at same garage that failed it . Got a call from the "Nice " man at the garage "Your needing new disks & pads on the rear , thats why your Handbrake was weak "

All donations to "Shorty's Brake Fund , P.O Box ........ "

If those were the actual words on the VT30 then it was failed incorrectly for the h/b - unless it is an air operated handbrake - which I very much doubt.

As for the broken spring - blame the councils and their insistance on fitting speed bumps.

That was just my take on what it said ..... can't remember the exact wording but was only 52% efficient

Can't agree more on the speed bump issue , even worse if you have a O/M spoiler fitted . Lost count of the guys i know who have spent £££££ on a nice body kit only to have it wrecked by these "Mountains" in the middle of the road

got mine mot'd yesterday too - passed with an advisory for "slight pitting on front brake discs"

seeing as i did less than 2000 miles in the past year, and less than 3000 in the year before that i think i'll wait to see what next years MOT says about them before crowbarring my wallet open
