I was at a dinner party yesterday. I was mingling with various different people and then I was introduced by someone who knew I was a petrolhead to the only Irish Bugatti Veyron owner! He told me he is exporting it to Spain and is going to have it stored at the Ascari Circuit. The sources of information about the owner were correct. He is the owner of Cash & Carry kitchens and lives in Cork and owns a Bentley Conti GT, RR TDV8 and an Ariel Atom to name a few. And guess what...... I get a go in it!!! I am going to be absolutely cacking it...

VRT is the reason he's exporting it, it costs 712k! Whereas if he brings it to Spain it's only 100k.

I will, won't be getting a spin for a few months though when it is in Spain.

I'm adoring my new car, I look forward to my journey in the morning now. It's got a good spec e.g heated seats, upgraded 17" 5 arm alloys, leather, cruise control, multi function steering wheel, multitronic etc... It's not as comfortable as the Volvo though, the Swedes have always made the best seats. I'm over the moon with it otherwise.

Cheers Luke. Hopefully it will be relatively soon. It's in Ireland right now, but it's heading to Spain soon. The guy was the soundest chap you could meet. He was telling me how he had a problem with it and they fixed it from the factory!

Glad to hear you're happy with the A4. Of course, what I really want to hear is that you regret not buying a 3series...

I do agree with you on the Volvo seats, why all manufacturers don't make cloned copies of these and put in their cars I'll never know. The only BMW seats, I've sat in, that match for support are Recaro's!

I've talked to an ex Cash & Carry manager who for many years worked for the owner (a very nice bloke as you say and a true petrol head for decades)  and he too (along with many others) has been promised a go in the Veyron. What you will be getting more than likely will be a few laps of the circuit beside a professional driver.....

Certainly not to be sniffed at. Enjoy.

Wow, 635, that's going to be quite an experience.

Make sure you get plenty of photographs and do a nice write-up on it.

By the way folks, the owner was offered €500k over list price for his Veyron by a UK buyer before it was registered, but alas has turned it down......

A new aluminium Veyron has been unveiled at Frankfurt.

The Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang has been released at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The name means 'pure blood' or 'thoroughbred', and the new car features an all-aluminium body shell and a carbon-fibre bonnet.

For a rumoured €400,000 more than a standard Veyron, all you seem to get is a car that is 200lbs lighter and has no paint. The weight saving will give a little more performance, although it makes a small impression on the car's more than 2-ton weight. However, it certainly looks good. Cant get the pictures to upload ??

Cheers Luke. The car came arrived in the middle of this year and was purchased by a guy from Dublin worse thing is the car arrived into the showroom and the very next morning it was collected but not driven off as you would expect but infact collected in a truck and covered to go into a private car collection. - What a waste.
